- Botanical Name: Calathea Concinna
- Common Names: Peacock Plant, Zebra Plant, Freddie
- Description: This Calathea Concinna also commonly called the Freddie comes with soft green leaves with uniquely shaped shades. Like all Calathea plants, the leaves adjust as the sun rotates throughout the day. Calathea Plants, native to tropical South and Central America, Africa, and the West Indies, are grown primarily for their beautiful, brightly colored, upright, oval leaves.
Every plant ships as a young, well-rooted starter grown by our US nursery partners. Size and shape vary naturally, and photos show a mature example of the variety.
On arrival: unbox right away, rest the plant out of direct sun for a day or two, then water lightly. A few wilted or yellowed leaves after transit are normal.
Planting: pot up in a well-draining mix, or plant outdoors once frost risk has passed in your USDA zone. Each listing states zone, light and watering.
Safety: many ornamental plants are toxic if eaten. Keep them away from young children and pets unless the listing says the plant is edible.
Shipping
We ship to the 48 contiguous US states only - not Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO Boxes or internationally.

Cold weather: from 1 November to 30 April every order ships with winter protection at our cost - a heat pack, plus an insulated liner or a faster service when the route needs one. If a hard freeze is forecast we may hold the order until it is safe to send.
