- Botanical Name: Hoya crassipetiolata
- Common Name(s): Hoya crassipetiolata
- Description: An uncommon hoya with thick, stiff leaves on notably chunky petioles - the short leaf stalks it is named for. A slow, steady climber that suits a small trellis or a hanging pot, and like other hoyas it can produce clusters of waxy star-shaped flowers once it is well established.
- Care: Bright indirect light. Water thoroughly, then let the soil dry most of the way down before watering again - hoyas hold water in their leaves and dislike staying wet. Do not cut off the bare flower spurs after blooming; the next flowers come from the same spot.
Every plant ships as a young, well-rooted starter grown by our US nursery partners. Size and shape vary naturally, and photos show a mature example of the variety.
On arrival: unbox right away, rest the plant out of direct sun for a day or two, then water lightly. A few wilted or yellowed leaves after transit are normal.
Planting: pot up in a well-draining mix, or plant outdoors once frost risk has passed in your USDA zone. Each listing states zone, light and watering.
Safety: many ornamental plants are toxic if eaten. Keep them away from young children and pets unless the listing says the plant is edible.
