Five houseplants for a home with a cat or a dog. Every plant in this set comes from a genus the ASPCA lists as non-toxic to cats and dogs, with no toxic relative on that list — we checked every plant in our catalogue against it, one at a time, rather than trusting a supplier label.
What you'll receive — 5 live plants:
- Rabbit's Foot Fern — 4" nursery pot
- Hypoestes 'Polka Dot' — 4" nursery pot
- Parlor Palm — 3" nursery pot
- Peperomia Watermelon — 4" nursery pot
- Maranta 'Leuconeura' (prayer plant) — 3" nursery pot
All five ship together in one box. Bought separately these five come to $104.95.
Non-toxic does not mean edible. A pet that eats a large amount of any plant can still be sick, and potting soil and drainage stones are their own hazard. Our full method — and the popular houseplants that did not pass — are in our pet-safe houseplants guide.
Care: bright indirect light suits all five; water when the top inch of soil is dry and let the pot drain fully. The rabbit's foot fern grows furry rhizomes that creep over the rim of the pot — that is normal, not a problem. The prayer plant folds its leaves up at night and opens them again in the morning. Plants ship in their nursery grow pots.
Free shipping on orders of $49 or more, and covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee.
Every plant ships as a young, well-rooted starter grown by our US nursery partners. Size and shape vary naturally, and photos show a mature example of the variety.
On arrival: unbox right away, rest the plant out of direct sun for a day or two, then water lightly. A few wilted or yellowed leaves after transit are normal.
Planting: pot up in a well-draining mix, or plant outdoors once frost risk has passed in your USDA zone. Each listing states zone, light and watering.
Safety: many ornamental plants are toxic if eaten. Keep them away from young children and pets unless the listing says the plant is edible.
Shipping
We ship to the 48 contiguous US states only - not Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO Boxes or internationally.
Orders ship from our US grower partners within 1 to 3 business days, with tracking by email within 48 hours, and most arrive 2 to 6 business days later.
Shipping is free on orders of $49 or more. Under $49 it is a flat $9.95.
Cold weather: from 1 November to 30 April every order ships with winter protection at our cost - a heat pack, plus an insulated liner or a faster service when the route needs one. If a hard freeze is forecast we may hold the order until it is safe to send.
Live Arrival Guarantee
If your plant arrives damaged or unhealthy, email info@greenleafventuresllc.com within 30 days with your order number and photos. We send a free replacement or refund you, and you do not ship anything back. We do not accept physical returns.
