- Botanical Name: Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Zenzii'
- Common Names: Dwarf ZZ plant, Zanzibar Gem, Emerald Palm
- Description: The Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Zenzii' plant, also known as ZZ plant or Zanzibar Gem, is a tropical perennial native to Eastern Africa. This popular houseplant is highly valued for its striking glossy, dark green foliage and its ability to thrive in low light conditions. The leaves are thick and waxy, with a unique feather-like pattern and a glossy sheen that adds a touch of elegance to any interior space. With its upright growth habit, the ZZ plant can grow up to three feet tall, making it a great choice for those seeking a taller indoor plant that requires minimal care. As a low-maintenance plant that is tolerant of neglect, the ZZ plant is perfect for both novice and experienced plant owners alike.
Every plant ships as a young, well-rooted starter grown by our US nursery partners. Size and shape vary naturally, and photos show a mature example of the variety.
On arrival: unbox right away, rest the plant out of direct sun for a day or two, then water lightly. A few wilted or yellowed leaves after transit are normal.
Planting: pot up in a well-draining mix, or plant outdoors once frost risk has passed in your USDA zone. Each listing states zone, light and watering.
Safety: many ornamental plants are toxic if eaten. Keep them away from young children and pets unless the listing says the plant is edible.
Shipping
We ship to the 48 contiguous US states only - not Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO Boxes or internationally.
Orders ship from our US grower partners within 1 to 3 business days, with tracking by email within 48 hours, and most arrive 2 to 6 business days later.
Shipping is free on orders of $49 or more. Under $49 it is a flat $9.95.
Cold weather: from 1 November to 30 April every order ships with winter protection at our cost - a heat pack, plus an insulated liner or a faster service when the route needs one. If a hard freeze is forecast we may hold the order until it is safe to send.
Live Arrival Guarantee
